The Department of Economic Studies is under the obligation of preparing studies, researches and reports in all the fields related to the economy of the state. Moreover, it has to monitor economic phenomena and analyze statistical indicators in order to assess its economic performance and future expectations in the light of present data and the ever-developing local, regional and international variables.
Therefore, we can sum up those obligations in a brief and concentrated form as follows
:-
· Analysis and evaluation of the economic performance in the country in the light of data and statistics provided by the planning sector in the ministry.
· Control of developing economic phenomena on the economic field that impacts the community and prepare necessary reports and studies to be submitted to concerned authorities to take appropriate measures.
· Preparation of studies and researches that deal with the investment environment in the country and review available privileges, required facilities and attained revenues in order to attract investment capitals into the country.
· Preparation of work papers submitted by the ministry by participating in economic seminars and conferences locally and abroad.
· To give its opinion in the studies, researches and reports received by the ministry from local and foreign sources connected with various economic subjects concerning the economic society.
· Preparation of the statistical file in the Trade balance sheet between the United Arab Emirates and each one of the states during the last years in order to know the trend of foreign trade with each one and the ratio of change therein.
· Preparation of files pertaining to state’s delegations to foreign countries and show the factual image of economic relations with each one of the countries visited, including the ways of expanding the relations therewith in the light of competitive capabilities it enjoys. It must propagate the development achieved in the United Arab Emirates and the possibility of benefiting from the common dual work and the positive results that may be attained.
· To give its opinion on the draft of the economic legislations before its issuance and give necessary suggestions on legislations in force in order to join with world development.
· To give its opinion in the economic agreements projects proposed to be signed between the state and other states, and to show how far it is in harmony with economic legislations in the state and the commitments of the state with regional and international organizations and bodies.
· To give economic advices to concerned authorities inside the ministry and outside.
· To organize seminars, conferences and circles that deal with local, regional and international economic issues that have an impact on economic society and to determined its scientific axis
· Any other issues entrusted to the department for execution.
