The concern and objective of the Organizations and International Cooperation Department under the umbrella of the Ministry’s domains:

The Organizations Department is concerned with the follow-up and implementation of all economic matters relating to the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Economy, whether National Economy or International Economic Affairs. On top of that, it looks into all tasks related to the economic organizations’ tasks as well as Commercial & Economic agreements and the follow up of the joint economic committees.

 In addition to the following:

 • Opening new markets for national exports, in particular, and exports in general as well as increasing the national exports percentage
 
• Defending the National Industry achievements through identifying  and removing the obstacles and difficulties that may be encountered in the markets of other countries
• Alleviating the financial, time and effort burdens of exported national goods and products

• Creating, improving and developing economic relations with other countries and economic blocs by means of conventions or direct contacts

• Developing and improving networking relations with the private sector (Chambers of Commerce and Industry/Economic Circles)

Organizations and International Cooperation Department is divided into two sections:
1. Organizations Section
2. Section of the Gulf Cooperation Council
 
Organizations Section oversees the follow up and activities of the following:

• Arab Economic and Social Council 
• Economic Agreement
• Commercial Joint Committees
 
GCC Department Section oversees the functions and activities of the Gulf Cooperation Council at the following levels:
 
• GCC Summit
• Commercial Cooperation Committee
• Other Ministrial Committees as well as some Technical ones
