Department of Industrial Property shall assume the following tasks:

1-     Apply the Federal Laws as amended pertaining to the regulation and protection of Industrial Property as regards patents, industrial drawings and forms, practical knowledge and contractual licenses.

2-     Receive and peruse applications of patents, industrial drawings and forms, issue certificates therefore, take procedures of following up the relative advertisements and object on the trade mark.

3-     Receive the complaints and grievances related to patents, settle same according to law and follow up cases at courts.

4-      Carry out renewal procedures, modification, cancellation, mortgage and transfer of the industrial property in accordance with the rules stipulated thereto.

5-     Set database as regards the international patents, regulate the communication relations, exchange with international centers for attesting such patents, issue the industrial property publication and contribute to transfer technology.

6-     Any other tasks entrusted therewith as regards the Department work.
